Pentagram In Retrospect

The pentagram is drawn with bad intent
To summon evil from the dark abyss
To give the magic power to the witch
A symbol that from Satan spawned is sent
The wicked made a pact, their soul has wept
The mortal soul is lost to wickedness
The pentagram abounds in evil myth
But now my criticism will be spent
I feel that I'm severely misinformed
The pentagram is nothing powerful
A star inside a circle is inscribed
It's just an old design of ancient lore
Artistically it is quite beautiful
And I've put my maliciousness aside

This is part 2 of my 5 part series. This is a Petrarchian Sonnet. It consists of a octave and a sestet. The octave presents a problem in one point of view and the sestet changes the point of view and offers a personal resolution. It is written in iambic pentameter with 14 lines.
